How do I get started with TokTalk on macOS?
Download TokTalk from the Mac App Store, open it, and sign in with your account. Grant microphone access when prompted, then press your dictation shortcut (Fn key by default) to start dictating.
Why does TokTalk need microphone access?
TokTalk converts your speech into text using AI. Microphone access is required to capture your voice. Your audio is processed in real-time and never stored — it is immediately discarded after transcription.
Which macOS versions are supported?
TokTalk requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. We recommend keeping your Mac updated to the latest macOS version for the best experience.
How do I configure the dictation shortcut?
Open TokTalk's settings and navigate to the Shortcut section. You can use the Fn/Globe key (recommended) or set a custom keyboard shortcut. The setup wizard will guide you through the configuration.
Is my data stored outside of Europe?
No. All processing — including AI transcription, databases, and authentication — happens entirely within the European Union (Frankfurt and Amsterdam). We never transfer your data to the US or any non-EU country.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
You can manage your subscription directly in the TokTalk app under Settings → Subscription. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. After cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of your current billing cycle.
Can I use TokTalk offline?
TokTalk requires an internet connection to process your dictation, as the AI transcription and text enhancement run on our secure European servers. An offline mode is not currently available.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can request complete account deletion by emailing info@toktalk.co. We will erase all your personal data, including your custom dictionary and settings, within 48 hours. Since we never store your audio or transcriptions, there is no voice data to delete.
